19032014-REFLECTION & PRESETATION ( 12032014-TRIP OF GEORGETOWN)
GROUP 3
STARTING POINT > 1ST STATION: JAWI HOUSE CAFE > 2ND STATION: CHINA HOUSE > END POINT: KAFFA ESPRESSO BAR (LEBUH LIGHT)
Whats so great about happiness anyway? According to the feel-good, do-good phenomenon, when people are already happy, they are more likely to be helpful.
As the saying goes, money cany but happiness.

So, what does make people happy?

First of all, we know that Penang is
historically a major tourist attraction as well as a major end point for the
cruise (Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia archipelago, Madras,etc) passenger and
pilgrimage traffic.tourists travel to destination for many reasons. Tourists
will not visit destinations that have nothing to offer!
**Competitiveness
attributes( tourists attraction, facilities and services, infrastructure, cost,
hospitality)
Guest
satification:fulfilling all of the guests’ needs
- Facilities and services( accommodation, entertainment, food and beverage facilities)
- Infrastructure (water systems, communication networks, sewage/drainage areas, streets/highways, and security systems)
- Hospitality (friendliness, helpfulness, responsiveness to complaints)
- Cost (value for money, accommodation prices, food and beverage prices, transportation prices)
- Attractions (scenery/natural resources, climate, culture, food, history, ethnicity, accessibility)
But...
TIME TO THINK | What
is critical thinking?
Critical
thinking is a way of processing information in which a person examines
assumptions, evaluates evidence, looks for hidden agendas, and assesses
conclusions.
TIME TO THINK | List of Problems that discovered:
- Language: difficulty to understand the Malay language
- Lack of clear and sharp images.
- Confusing road sign.
- Trafic light doesn`t make sense (annoying!)
- The problems of locking bicycle
- Phone booth: some of it not function at all/ vandalisme
- Consideration of Parking lot, especially for OKU (orang kurang upaya)
- Problems of trash.
- Tourist Information Center:
- YES - doing their traditional role to give information.
- NO - did not promote the tourism industry in Penang
- YES - up-dated and provide accurate information
- NO - not-updated (internet usage)

18032014-GOSSIP ABOUT THE HAPPINESS PROJECT
I would like to introduce myself before getting start of the Happiness Project.
• Geography (wayfinding, access issues, public transport);
• Culture (arts, festivals, public art, souvenirs, noongar ownership/heritage, how to impart information about events, celebrating artists);
• Activity (use of public space, turn the city into a game, historical and future activities, science and libraries, seasonal events);
• Services (ways to improve residents and tourists’ experiences in the city, visual identity of services such as transport, police, water).
ask ourself 1st: What we will gains? What is the outcomes? What designer can do?
No. 1_Projects that invlove recycling, upcycling or resusing materials.
No. 2_Projects that are quirky and fun.
No. 3_Projects that are useful.
No. 4_Projects that are easy to make.
No. 5_Projects that teach me new ideas and techniques.
In this cases, I gonna thinking about the THEME which suit for my blog. SO, the Happiness Project for my blog was Time to think : Lost and Found !!

My name is Wong Chew Lin. Currently I am studying at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang. I am taking Fine Art course as my major and Graphic Communication as my minor. I am second year student.
Task received : Happiness project is supported by graphic comm. design department, school of arts 【usm & think city】 The challenge needs to be relevant to introducing happiness into the
city. You might consider a problem in one of the following categories:
• Culture (arts, festivals, public art, souvenirs, noongar ownership/heritage, how to impart information about events, celebrating artists);
• Activity (use of public space, turn the city into a game, historical and future activities, science and libraries, seasonal events);

How can you make the city happy?
Go beyond it！
